Gamze Eynur-Alper
"Being a person of your word and maintaining integrity is highly valued in my culture and personally."
"My statistics and econometrics professor encouraged me to pursue an academic career. However, at the very last moment, I made a different decision about my future. Inspired by a university event held by one of the big four accounting firms at my faculty of economics twenty years ago, I chose to become an auditor. At the time, I also had friends working as auditors in the big four, which gave me the opportunity to learn more about the profession. Following the university event, I started and completed an internship in auditing, which was a great learning experience. The risk management aspects of audit engagements particularly interested me, as they aligned with my favorite subjects in statistics. The team spirit was impressive, and I felt I was adding real value to society, especially during bank audits. I decided to stay in the profession, and it has now been eighteen years. I learn a lot from more experienced auditors and partners every day."
"It is very important to me. Being a person of your word and maintaining integrity is highly valued in my culture and personally, so I take it very seriously."
"I work for KPMG in financial services audit as a senior manager, primarily focusing on the audits of banks and investment/asset management companies. I also work as a corrector at Tilburg University for ICAIS lectures."
"Our responsibility to society makes my job meaningful. The structured training and the opportunity to mentor the next generation are also very important to me. You never leave the office without learning something new, from younger and older generations. Over the past twenty years, auditing has become a significant part of my life. It has improved my thought process, making me more critical about the information I receive. Audit is a lifestyle, not just a job."
"My primary areas of interest in audit include expected credit losses and IT audits, although I am passionate about the entire field of auditing. Additionally, I enjoy contributing to our human resources initiatives. Another favorite responsibility of mine is my role in delivering lectures at Tilburg University as part of the ICAIS-program. CRSD presents a new learning opportunity for me and holds significant social and environmental importance."
Wat is je leeftijd?
"I am a proud forty! I was the oldest one in the classrooms during my post-master studies. But I am getting younger. 😊"
"Working for the future of audit, contributing to a better society and creating a better workplace for young people, like a lifetime school."
